Susana Gonzalez, Executive Director
Susana Gonzalez has been working with college student boards in California for over 10 years. She began her career at Associated Students at Cal State San Marcos where she also received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
For the past five years, Susana has been the Executive Director for the California State Student Association (CSSA), the largest statewide student advocacy group in the country. CSSA has celebrated numerous victories and accomplishments. Most recently, it was responsible for changing the age limit of Cal Grant recipients from 24 to 27 years old and during the last presidential election CSSA registered over 24,000 college students! Promoting democratic values are Susana’s number one priority. In her opinion, college students are the future leaders of this nation and she feels working with them is her civic responsibility.

It’s amazing where they end up: the Governor’s Office, Washington D.C., owning their own consulting firm, non-profit Executive Director, Peace Corps and the list goes on and on."-Susana Gonzalez.
Currently, she is the writer for "Latina in the City" published in the Long Beach Post (www.lbpost.com), she is in the process of completing a Masters in Public Administration at California State University, Long Beach, and most recently she joined the California Latino/a Legislative Caucus Leadership Institute, Madrinas/Padrinos Committee.
Susana's passion for education, culture and diversity has taken her everywhere from the Acropolis in Greece to the Great Wall of China. She believes that her travel experiences have provided an appreciation for diversity and global consciousness.
She is the daughter of immigrant parents and is the first in her family to complete an education beyond high school. She is the oldest daughter of two, her parents continue to live in the same home where she grew up and she lives in Long Beach with her dog, "Goli." On her spare time she visits her family and friends in San Diego, CA.
