Legislative Affairs Committee Responsibilities |
- The CSSA Chair of Legislative Affairs shall preside over
the Legislative Affairs Committee.
- It shall be the duty of the Legislative Affairs Committee
to review, research and make recommendations on, but not
limited to, legislation emanating from the California State
Legislature and United States Congress.
- The Committee shall elect a Vice Chair at the first meeting
of the CSSA Board of Directors in July of each year. The
Vice Chair may be responsible for taking minutes and shall
assume all duties assigned by the Chair or Committee. The
Vice Chair shall assume the Chair position in the absence,
resignation or removal of the Chair.
- The Committee may appoint a Recording Secretary.
- The Committee shall direct the Chair of Legislative Affairs
and Governmental Relations staff.
- The Committee shall take action on all legislation deemed
appropriate or otherwise act on recommendations by the Chair.
- The Committee shall, by the third regularly scheduled
meeting of the year, create a list of legislative priorities
and recommend action to the Board of Directors.
- The Committee shall create a plan to deal with the legislative
agenda and any other issues deemed appropriate by the Legislative
Affairs Chair or CSSA Board of Directors.
- The Committee shall aid in statewide Lobby Corps efforts.
- The Committee shall put on a Lobby Corps Clinic annually
