For CSU students’ legislative agenda to be successful, CSSA board members, students at large and ASI’s must work actively to influence decision makers during each step of the legislative processes. CSSA takes positions on legislation impacting CSU students and central CSSA’s mission. CSSA supports these legislative principles by taking the following actions on proposed legislation during the monthly Board of Directors meetings as appropriate.
A proposal CSSA develops or identifies as beneficial to CSU students and is central to CSSA’s mission.
A bill that CSSA has not yet discussed or is not relevant to CSSA’s mission.
A bill that would not affect CSU students or CSSA’s mission.
A bill that supports CSSA’s mission and principles.
CSSA’s position would change if recommended amendments are made to resolve implementation or policy concerns. This position should indicate which concerns must be resolved before the CSSA would change its position.
A bill that is in conflict with CSSA’s mission and principles.
